Road to World Pride

A long way to place Madrid as the capital of the World LGBT

1977-2017

1977 marked the beginning of the lgbt rights movement in our country, which was in the full transition process towards democracy after 40 years of dictatorship, being the LGBT community one of the most affected by the repression of the regime.

2007-2017

In 2007 the Europride celebration was another highlight in our history, consolidating the Madrid Pride internationally as “best gay event in the world”

2017

After a long journey Madrid Pride becomes WorldPride to host the World LGBT Pride event.
